Frequency of bluffs

The frequency at which a player bluffs is also important because observant players are very quick to catch a player while bluffing if that player is bluffing too often. In such situations, opponents would make a call for strong hands only when they find that they have favorable pot odds. Observant players can snap off a bluff if the player on the opposite end bluffs too much. If bluffing is carried out occasionally, it not only helps in disguising the hands that the player might be holding at that particular time, but it also helps in uprooting the opponents assessment of the player’s cards at hand. Similarly, bluffing infrequently can also be harmful for the overall sake of the game. This is so because observant players would instantly know that the player is playing safe and therefore, the amount of risks taken on their part would also decrease. Besides, if you bluff too infrequently, chances are that you would become too predictable for seasoned players, which is not a good thing, if you want to be a professional Poker player.
