Aspects of bluffing
One of the most aspects of bluffing well, and bluffing at the right time is the knowledge of cards and statistics. You should know the actual cost of cards with you, on the table and the cost of cards that might be held by your opponents. Try and evaluate the probabilities of your opponent calling and folding respectively. Try to match the expectation of your opponent without letting him know that you are bluffing. Knowledge about possible outcomes of the game, depending upon statistical data is also important for bluffing successfully. Finally, one of the most technically involving elements of a bluff is the size of the pot. The larger is the pot, more attractive it is for players. This might lead players into persisting with their bets and keep calling. This would inherently lead your bluff to fail as the probability of their calling on your bet increases. On the hind side, a successfully executed bluff, at the right time and on a large pot has more chances of fetching you larger sums of money. To sum up, all the above mentioned aspects need to be thought about and worked upon before you can expect to make successful bluffs. Bluffing is an integral part of modern day Poker and requires the players to be spot on in their judgment about the opposition.
