Situations which are favorable to bluffing

Published at 10. 1. 2009 in category Main

From our discussion so far, it is safe to conclude that bluffing is a better option in the situation wherein the probability of being called by an opponent decreases. There are some situations which are favorable to bluffing, some of which are enumerated as follows. When a situation is such that it provides lower pot odds to the opponent on a call and when there are more opponents willing to fold on a bluff, making a bluff is more favorable. In such situations, making a pure bluff is a better option. Situations wherein a scare card surfaces, increasing the perceived number of better hands that the player might have and wherein the players betting hands have consistently been superior and in consonance with the pattern in which the player intends to bluff, are more favorable to semi bluffs. Make sure that the opponents are skilled enough and paying attention to believe that you are not bluffing. This is a characteristic trait of most serious Poker players- getting them engrossed and making them believe that you are not bluffing is the key to successfully bluffing your way to a victory.
